Convent of the Friars Minor and Church of the Holy Cross
In 1605 this convent was built in a very pleasant location, half a kilometre from the village of Ostra Vetere. The Church was completed in 1620, and was solemnly consecrated in 1622. The Convent was home to the Sacred Eloquence study and the Preparatory College. It is well restored and well maintained. The church has a valuable panel by the painter Claudio R. Veronese; a carved wooden crucifix, a gift from the Duke of Urbino Francesco II. Here devotion to St. Pasquale Baylon; both at the annual festival and daily, devotees flock to trust in his intercession. For a few years now, the headquarters of the Holy Land Commissariat has been there.
